Enable to order sold out products - how?

Hi,

i am using OC 1.5.3.

I want to allow customers to order sold out products. I set the Stock checkout to YES in the backend.
I use options for products (e.g. Large, Small, Medium) but they dont show up in frontend while they a sold out, so nobody can order them.

alas for options the only way to do this is to set subtract to no on each option
