Hello,
i have my shipping costs that i want to implement to my store but i can't seem to find the best way to do it...
the breakdown is:
upto 1KG - £6.00 + VAT
1.01-5KG - £7.00 + VAT
5.01-20KG - £8.00 + VAT
Price Per KG after 20KG is 35p per KG (Upto 50KG)
50KG Upwards (do not have cost yet but will need to add this)
Extra Options on top of the above:
Standard Delivery Next Working Day by 4pm - No Cost
Next Working Day By Noon - £4.50 + VAT
Next Working Day By 10am - £7.50 + VAT
Next Working Day By 9am - £12.50 + VAT
Special Saturday Delivery - £15.00 + VAT
Optional Insurance
Cover Per £1000 of goods - £4.00 + VAT
These options are for UK Mainland only.
I want the calculations to be automatic and below have radio buttons for the extra options (only select one) and the insurance as a check box.
any thoughts??
sounds like you need a custom shipping extension, might want to repost this in the feature request section.
you can use weight based shipping to calculate the breakdown, although i think if you wanted 35p per kg after 20kg you would need to manually enter all the rates for those seperately.
extra options i think can be done using something like the royal mail shipping module, which gives you a choice of each type of postage, cant remember if a seperate fee can be added to these, this may require a custom extension.
optional insurance again this may need a custom extension.

You can do this with my Weight-Based Shipping Plus extension, which allows you to do rates like 35p per kg. I just redesigned the admin panel interface so that you can easily add multiple rates.
The insurance would need to be separate, but you could use Qphoria's Insurance extension to add that.

Ok.. so i kinda gave up the ghost with this now... after speaking with our courier we have managed to get a flat fee no matter what we ship! (wahoo) so i have used the flat fee option. however, i still want to offer the extra options on top of the flat fee..
Extra Options on top of the above:
Standard Delivery Next Working Day by 4pm - No Cost (This is what the flat fee gives you)
Next Working Day By Noon - £4.50 + VAT
Next Working Day By 10am - £7.50 + VAT
Next Working Day By 9am - £12.50 + VAT
Special Saturday Delivery - £15.00 + VAT
is there a way to add these options alone? no need for insurance now
many thanks

Setup the weight based shipping like this:
Make 5 copies of your current Geo Zone, and name them according to your shipping.
Example: Standard Delivery
Then in the weight based shipping extension, set the rates as follows:
Geo Zone / Rates
Standard Delivery /999999:0.00
Next Working Day By Noon / 999999:4.50
Next Working Day By 10am / 999999:7.50
Next Working Day By 9am / 999999:12.50
Special Saturday Delivery / 999999:15.00
Regards,
Joel.
