I change the abandaned cart to processed and add invoice number,
the purchased stock for the order does not get removed from inventory.
Is this by design or software limitation? Or am I processing the abandon cart incorrectly?

Also, is there a way to make Pay By Check only update te inventory AFTER I have a check in hand?

Abandoned carts will need manual stock adjustment if you make them live orders

Regarding the check payment, if you have 1 quantity in stock of a product and someone purchases it and chooses pay by check, if the cart didn't deduct the stock and then a day or two later someone else purchased the item, you will be in a bad situation. That is the reason why it works the way it does currently.
