1.5.1.3 site very slow for category not cached!!!

I have very very problems and i cann't work with opencart because the category in main menu and side menu load very very sload the site pages!!!
how can i do?
i cann't buy a module only for category iussue!!!
if you not patch this bug i think that more userrs change cart software!!!!
