I am using OpenCart to sell OpenCart (and other Open Source solutions) Self-Hosting solutions and Continuous Offline Automated, Encrypted backup solutions.

Using the power of SheevaPlugs, themselves based on GPL software I sell Debian squeeze mini-boxes starting at $249.

The Basic Cart-in-a-Box comes ready to go on a 5 Watts/hour computer plug. It includes a plug server and a 8GB SDHC Flash memory card. It is fully loaded with OpenCart.

Simply plug in the tiny computer to a wall outlet; connect the LAN cable to your internet connected router and you are ready. You can immediately set up your own stores with your own products. Once you are ready, you can buy a Dynamic DNSservice (dyndns.org) to allow customers to access your stores using your own URL (i.e. http://www.mystore.com) if you have no static IP.

Check my store at: http://www.emediacart.com

For other software (SugarCRM, Elgg, Dollibar, Collabtive, OpenRealty, Sphider and openEMR you can visit my other OpenCart store at: http://www.emediaPlugnplay.com

I also sell automated and encrypted backup solutions for OpenCart and these other softwares.

Finally I have a beta version of B2B/B2C OpenCart (back and front) you can find at emediacart.com under the co-creation category. Co-creation allows different participants in the global marketplace (designers, distributors, manufacturors, etc) to link up, market products and use the same OpenCart to sell to consumers. I still don't know if I am going to launch it as a site under the Product Junction brand or sell it as an OpenCart extension.

Feed back on all that is very welcome, as well as potential design and Biz Dev partnerships.

The emediaCart solution is a plug-n-play hardware-software e-commerce solution. It features a computer the size of a matchbox (4" x 2.5" x 2") running Linux and OpenCart.

Coming soon... emediaBackpack, the only automatic, encrypted, remote service for all OpenCart installations. PM me for more info.

$250? i can host anyone for $40 a year. seems to me thats 6 years of full outsourced support, maintainance and server backups for the same cost, as yours, and have to deal with all situations manually.

Some people want or need their server at their place, home-office or office. Shared servers, or hosted systems, or even clouds don't offer the same security and privacy no matter what. So there is a choice.
