I was trying to follow instructions to get rid of <SUP...that was showing up in my shipping. And then I cleared my cache because I still was seeing that .... not I can't log in to admin, AND my shipping doesn't work...

I tried Jay's password reset tool, and it seems to work, but still doesn't let me login even though the tool says it was successful. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Well, it doesn't work in IE or FF (on the same computer). I was in there earlier today, so I know that I must have broken it somehow.

I can access my ISP and my control panel for the site - is there a way to do something from there?

No, not really.

What error do you get?

apparently I made it worse. This is what I get now (before I could at least enter a pw and id and nothing would happen)

ok, so there's got to be a way to reset a password, no? I can enter the user id and password, and then they both clear out - no error message. Can I change it in the db or something?

I'm having the same issue with a customer this morning. I can't add any items to the shopping cart (it's like the button doesn't work) and when I try to log into the admin, it just comes back to the login page with no error messages.

I'm using 1.5.0

In both cases I would delete all the files and empty you database and start over again.

This has been taken more time then a re-install.

That is: if you do NOT have a database without self added products.

1) Argghh - a double negative - my mind is going to explode trying to figure out what you're saying!!
2) I could delete files and data if I had instructions, but not without someone telling me specifics, and I don't want to lose what I already have.
3) JAY6390 tried reinstalling some files (not db related I think) but we still couldn't get in.
4) Finally the aforementioned JAY6390 (now my idol), figured out the problem. Apparently I had visited a web-grading site that recommended I 'merge' my "domainname.com" with my "www.domainname.com" and I asked my host to do a 303 redirect (no idea what a '303' is). And apparently the site was set up to look for the non-www site. JAY is a lot more familiar with the details, but if anyone ever needs OC work done and is looking for a recommendation, I want to go on record and say JAY6390 was not just knowledgeable, but also very easy to work with, and never once has scolded me for doing stupid things that break other things (and same for Q and i2 and probably lots of others here who help out silly non-technical people like me who probably shouldn't touch things that well, they shouldn't touch!!).
