Product in a list view

I know this question has already been posted many times, but I couldn't find a clear and simple answer!

I have version 1.4.9.3 and I'd like to list the products on a list view (one over the other), with thumbnail, Name of prduct, first lines of description, price, and "Add to cart" button.

I know this has been added to 1.5 version, but I'd like to do it with 1.4.9.3. Any help? Please I need I detailed answer because I'm not a specialist :-)
