There is a spreadsheet contribution which is quite good.

I believe there was a version that supported 1.2.3 you will have to search down the list or better still upgrade your OpenCart.

Yes there is
Providing you are not scared of your php admin for instance
If you put your productsin an Excel sheet, export them to a csv file
You can then upload them in to one of the tables in your database
When necessary i could give you some pointers

Isn't JNeuhoff's Import/Export-Module being included in the core?
I know there was talk of it at one stage.
