extra info module

Hi Guys and Girls

Still in the proces of discovering if OpenCart is the right tool for me.
At this moment i am busy with a second attempt to create an extra module `Extra Info´
The purpose is another block on screen with product related info instead of general info like T&C etc.

I started of with the information module because this seems to meet mij needs.
After creating several diferent "extrainfo" files form the "information" files i managed to get the new module visible in the back-end of the store.
Through the extensions\modules option i see the "extra info" module in the list of modules.
It could be installed and edited (changes are saved in db) but the effect of the changes (like 'left/right' and 'sort order' aren't refreshed after succes message)
Through the catalog\extra info i'm able to edit the entries in the extra info module (these changes are also saved in the db)
The other thing is the new "extra info" module doesn't show up at the front-end.

I use opencart 1.2.8 with categorie descr. extension from fido-x
i created 2 tables extrainfo and extrainfo_description (including data from information and information_description) in the opencart db.
it looks like i'm almost there, except for the last bits

2 questions remain:

1.) what adjustment should i make to get the back-end show the alterations on the new module after editing
2.) what adjustment should i make to get the front-end show the the new "extra info" module.

Hope one of you can give me a hand with this

Persistence payed off
I´ve got my ´Extra Info´ module working.
Both in the back end and in the front end.

main problem was defining ALL the right variables and taking care of all the uniformity in the use of caps.

should work also for some of the other modules.

i´m not quite sure if all the files in the different folders are equally important/necessary
for some files it seems they are orphans?
would like to get a clean install or doc with specific details about the necessary/right files

was a full/busy but rewarding day again
