I have OC v1.4.9.3 Installed at http://www.homesteadgeneralstore.com
We just decided to start using Amazon to sell some of our products and they have different shipping than we do.
They don't have a UPS rate system... Only a base price plus each pound. So after comparing our shipping prices with what other Amazon sellers are charging, we realized our shipping with UPS seems on the high end.
Thus: We installed the USPS Module and got a USPS API user ID.
I installed the v4 patch -> http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... ule+update
Now I don't like the options for shipping....
Q1: How do I identify the product as a book for "Bound Printed Matter" or identify a DVD as "Media Mail" (assuming that is the only item in the cart)?
Q2: How do I limit the options presented to the user? The user should not be given the option to select "Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box" if the total cart size is larger. I can see the user purchasing a larger item and then selecting the "Priority Mail Small Flat Rate Box" option. He would then be charged for a small package rate but we will be charged by USPS for the large box. Now I will have to refund then charge the credit card again with the new price... what a mess!
Is this fixed in the newer OpenCart? This seems like the most most basic of shipping options. USPS in the United States is the first option someone would have available until they PAID for UPS or Private Carrier.
Honestly no cart I know of has anything this robust. I used to just sell all my dvds as priority mail in zencart as it is just more convenientHomesteadGenStore wrote:Is this fixed in the newer OpenCart?
