My OpenCart is at 1.4.8. I see that there is 1.5.1.2 available, but 1.4.9 is considered the "stable" version. I was contemplating upgrading today simply because I wanted to feed my products to the Google Merchant Center and understand that this is built-in to the 1.5 versions.

BUT, I generally end up only upgrading a couple of times a year, because I have a lot of little modifications that I need to make each time, and of course, I don't want to break my cart, since it is vital to my business. Since the 1.5x versions are not yet considered stable, am I better off just staying where I am for a bit? I can't seem to find any instructions for upgrading from 1.4.8 directly to 1.5.1.2 anyway. Can someone point me to these instructions, just in case I decide to give it a try?

Thanks.

There is a Beta upgrade script created by Qphoria here:

Upgrading vs. sticking with your current version is a conflict between 1) your wish for the latest features; and 2) time taken to re-create modifications, + risk of errors :(

So, to upgrade, or not to upgrade, is your decision :) My installation is still a 1.4.8b version, with the odd bug fix.
