New products only shows one store in both

I just installed OpenCart 1.5.1.1 and changed the homepage to show the new products. But when an item is added to one store, it shows in both.
What is even worse: I've added items to shop 2 and then i added an item to shop 1. Now both shops only show the item added to shop 1 as new product
Clicking on this new product in shop 2 gives the error that the product can not be found, which is right, because it was added to shop 1.
Can you please check the multistore option for the 'new products' module?
I've changed the design so the new products don't show at the moment because this is annoying for visitors, so I can't give you a link to the problem
