I am not sure if its a bug or just the format, but I did a test send mail using open cart v1.2.6 and when I opened it up in my email to view it came out with the html tags:

Code: Select all

<html dir="ltr" lang="en">
<head>
<title>test</title>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
</head>
<body><p>testing mail</p></body>
</html>
It would be good to have a option when sending out mail to send just TEXT based or HTML option for the administrator or store owner sending out emails.

why mention "Outlook Express 6.0"

then say:
"But I do not use it, is not set."

whats the point?

how do you know the email is not working if you don't use a mail client?

I'm assuming its your bad english!

If I understand it, Opencart send email out in HTML format ONLY. I was checking it on my server not my Outlook and thats when I saw that.

Since some folks prefer to receive mail in TEXT format instead of HTML format I thought having that option in the ADMIN to select how to send out the newsletter email would be a nice option.

Maybe have it where the USER in their profile when selecting if they wish to receive the newsletter can also select if they wish to receive it in either TEXT or HTML format and then the have the backend check which and send it in the requested format?!?!
