Ok, now I found it.
But I have another problem....
The DataBase collation is set to accept portuguese and spanish characters, but in the Administration zone the menus don't display "ç;õ;á;í;é;" etc.
Can you help, please?

Hi

I'm very interested in how you  managed to change the general admin language in the administration area... I, myself have problems with a similar problem - that is: allowing customers to enter their danish adress with the special danish characters Æ,Ø and Å. They don not show - and I believe it is in the admin area the problem can be solved.

As for your problem  - have you tried changing the charset to f.eks. iso-8859-3 in the "spanish.php" file in admin - language?

Regards from Denmark...

I am using the norwegian language pack (which I created myself) - and I have no problems with displaying special characters.
If it doesn't work out to change the charset in the .php file I would make sure that the language-files containing the special characters are stored using the right encoding (utf-8).

I had a problem with this as my editor (notepad) used ANSI encoding by default. After storing all language-files in UTF-8 all special characters are displayed correctly.
