UPS quote before checkout - 1.4.9.4

I have been searching and surprisingly not finding...I would have thought this would be a common question/request

Is there a way or mod to get a shipping quote prior to checkout? Even in the "view cart" screen would be fine

Ok, can anyone tell me if getting a shipping quote prior to checkout is a regular feature of v1.5?

getclearlythinking.com has a module for shipping estimator for 1.4.x
1.5.x has this by default
