display of tax (VAT)

Hi,

This is the way that I believe tax & product prices should be displayed (please correct me if I'm wrong!) -

when dealing with the public, all product prices displayed in the catalogue & on product pages should include tax (VAT).
When checking out, each product and the total value of products shown should be excluding tax, with a separate line showing shipping and then the total tax due and then the actual total (the invoice should do this too).

Does OC do all this? I'm not so sure.... I haven't checked invoices yet, just looking at ordering process.

Questions -

1. At the moment, OC seems to be displaying product prices excluding tax even though tax rate is set-up - how can I change this so that prices are displayed including tax in the catalogue & on product pages?

2. If I don't want to charge tax on any products in my shop, do I just remove the tax rate (easy), or do I have to edit all products to have tax class of none (hard), or adjust product prices (even harder)?

Thanks
Mark :)

Yes OC does this.

You need to setup your tax zones first. I have only done one tax zone for the UK.

you can set do not display with taxes int he settings if you do not wish for taxes to be displayed,

Thanks Daniel,

the setting in Admin > Settings > Local wasn't set to show taxes.
