Integrate latest products into existing site

Hi,

Apologies if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it with search.

I run a site that is based on PHPBB forum and has a home page with links to news etc. That I am after doing is having a shop on a sub-directory of the same site but have the latest products appear on the home page.

Is there a tutorial anywhere of how to access this information and include it on a separate page of the main site?
