In OpenCart 1.5, the currency selector at the top of the default template uses the currency symbol.
What if I accept US, Canadian, and Australian Dollars on my store? All of those currencies have the same symbol of $. It would be rather confusing for my customers.
I think it would be better if they could choose a flag (like for languages) instead of a currency symbol.
Does anybody know how I could change it so that a flag of that country shows up for the different currencies?
Thanks!

I have the same issue as the previous poster - is this possible please to change the $ sign to an image of a flag for instance?
I sell in US $, GB £ and Euros so I would like to change the symbols at the top of my page to a US Flag, Euro Flag, and British Flag.
thanks

I use both Australian Dollars (default currency) and US Dollars. The way I do it is to set the "Symbol Right" for Australian Dollars to "$", and for US Dollars to "US$". Don't know whether this causes any problems with PayPal (haven't had anything reported), so I can only assume that it doesn't.
Changing to a flag could cause misunderstanding amongst your customers who may think that it is a means of selecting a different language rather than a different currency.
