Just created an XLS import module that imports products, product options, product discounts, product specials, manufactures, coupons and categories from a single (supplied) XLS (Microsoft Excel format) workbook and images.

Currently it has no export function and uses the default store and default language (which should be English unless you modify the language file).

Allows either just importation of new products or entire products while deleting the old ones.

why would you bother since there is a free export/import module that does this exact thing and does have export capabilities?

Can I try your new Import? Or is it available anywhere?

Its in the extensions area of the site. Type XLS into the search and it will come up. It only imports from a special spreadsheet. Its in development but I'm actually not working on it anymore. It wont work for OC 1.5. Its released under the GNU GPU so do what you want with it.

fosgad, great concept. I am going to check it out, but I need a version for OC 1.5 since I just started using OC.

Is the reason why it is not working for 1.5 because you started it during OC 1.4.X or is there an issue with it just working under 1.5? I ask because if you do not have a 1.5 version, maybe I can pick up from there.

It directly accesses the database tables and in 1.5 some of them have been split up.
