Hi,

I downloaded the Open Source Shopping cart OPENCART and found it great, simple and easy to understand either for standard user without programming knowledge (that's me). There are, however, some issues I bother my head with. First I want my cart displays dual currency prices, as I am living in the Slovak Republic. The country has adopted the EURO currency since January 1st, 2009. Till the end of this year all prices have to be shown in EURO first and Slovak Crown in parenthesis at the same time. This applies also to totals in Orders, Invoices and other documents showing price/prices and generated by the shopping cart. Moreover, the documents have to show the so called official conversion ratio between the EURO and the the Slovak Crown (1€=30.1260 Slovak Crowns). My knowledge of PHP coding is poor as that of a beginner, hence my wish to ask for help/support.

Another issue are the special characters we use here in Slovakia. As soon as I type in for example an address of a dummy customer (to test the shopping cart) that has special characters in it, I see questionmarks instead of those special characters in the browser and the database, as well. I checked the shopping cart is written to support the UTF-8, but somehow it does not work. I have to retype the special characters in the MySQL database manually, so they can be shown on web pages correctly.

Would be someone among you to provide help/support? I am currently working on the Slovak translation. As soon as I have it ready, I will publish it for free in this forum.

Many thanks!

I partially succeeded by myself. As for the special Slovak characters, the problem was in database creation. I did not choose any collation in phpMyAdmin when the database was created. I started from scratch and created the database with the utf8-unicode-ci collation again. Now everything seems to be all right.

Well, the only problem I have to solve are the dual currency prices. Will there be a guy who could provide solution?

Thanks!

Although with my very poor knowledge and experience of PHP :( , I dug in the PHP coding and succeeded ;D to solve the dual currency prices to appear on each product page. Now there is no need to provide any help and/or support.

Thanks!
