Conditional Option Drop Down

I'm looking to see if anyone has or is attempting to create a conditional drop down menu for open cart.

What I am looking to do is have a drop down which contains:

Standard Print
Greeting Card
Canvas
Digital Image

and then depending on what the customer selects they will be able to select individual options (i.e. 16x20 canvas or various image sizes for the digital image) for their main selection. I would be ok if the drop downs that weren't needed were just greyed out. They do not necessarily need to be hidden.

the best way to do it with current configuration would be to have standard print as an option title and then have the sizes as a drop down. Do the same for the others.

so you have

Standard Print
16x20
20x40

Greeting Card
16x20
20x40

as for having conditional drop downs, not sure if this has been done.

Sorry to bump an old thread but this one seems to come up high in searches.

For anyone who needs this functionality I have a module out called Dependent Options which does this.
