How do I change banner without going through Image Manager

Hi,
I am using 1.4.9.4 & I need to change the banner on my site, in admin, I can't see the images in image manager & the images are def there, I have read the forums here and no matter what I do I can't get to see the images in the image manager.
So how do I hard code it where I go in to the page and code it so the banner shows up on my home page and across the site in top left hand corner where the default banner is ?
I am not a programmer, so if you can tell me the directory path and page and code to add, like give me an example of a banner being coded.

You can change the "banner" if we are talking about the same thing in System Settings Images in the back end.. Easy.. (if that is what you mean)

Hi,
I tried that, I can upload the image but just can't see it in the image manager to choose it as my banner, none of the images are showing up, but when you look using FIlezilla they are all there. This is a known problem when too many images in image folder, they just don't show anymore, so how do I code it where I can load the banner on my home page ?

Can of worms...A different problem check your chmod settings in that folder they might only be 700 for the folder and 600 for the files, if so there is the problem. And if so it is the same problem I am having myself....
Again possibly not, but if you uploaded it from the back end it should be visible, if not sounds a little more serious... I have been using opencart since yesterday BTW.....

Hi,
set at 777, nothing works to get them to show, I have a couple of thousand pics in there, i noticed, once you hit so many you just cant see them anymore in the image manager.

FYI, I found a work around for anybody intereted, in image manager, create a sub folder & upload the image there & then you can see it. I still rather code it but better than nothing, it works !!

It comes with a default banner or logo that says welcome to store, something like that & you make your own & replace it
