I tried to set up a "cheque with order" payment method by modifying cod.php, changing all "cod" to "cheque", then insert it into "Extension" page successfully. But when I click the "+" icon to install, the following report occur:
Permission Denied!
You do not have permission to access this page, please refer to your system administrator.

Can anyone help?
Many thanks,
Chor

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for replying. First of all, OpenCart is lovely to use. I am hoping to modify it for a charity group.
I am already a "Top Administrator", and able to insert "Cheque with order" option to Payment screen, as shown on attached. But when I click the "+" icon to "install", it came up with:
"Permission Denied! You do not have permission to access this page, please refer to your system administrator".
Is it something to do with the database write permission? Any database file access rights need "777" setting?
Many thanks!

this is happening becuase there is no install script per say (function ) in your ne wpaymetn method..      the install would run things like create tables and stuff needed for anythin special on that payment .. if its not ... jurt run with it..

I have already added "payment_cheque.tpl" into directory "admin\template\default\content", but the same report still occurs. "payment_cheque.tpl" was modified from "payment_cod.tpl", from the same directory. Are you referring to this file? Please refer to attached image.
One item I am still trying to locate, where is the constant "cod" declared? Guess I have to add "cheque" declaration as well?
Many thanks!

Chor, did you get this worked out? I am trying to get this to work for a credit card payment but I am running into the same thing.

I have gotten this setup for credit card through to the + sign for the install in the Extensions.

I get the Permission denied! error.

Looking at the underlying URL, I think the problem may be there. The URL under the + sign is:
http://www.xxxxxxxxxxxx.com/opencart/admin/index.php/controller/payment_card/action/install

The "index.php" in the URL doesn't seem right. I checked the config.php files and things are right there. Any ideas about this and where I need to fix it?

look at my post above... if you didn't create a a install function then it will not run
to install per say

but should work fine.
as i have done this with a few of my modules as well

Hi raebaca,

I could not solve the problem, so now I am trying joomla+virtuemart, so far so good. There are things that are nice with opencart, so I may return again sometime later, but I am pressing for time just now.
I am still interested in the solution.

I've run into the same issue now, having found/replaced all COD with CARD in 0.7.6.

I wonder if it's not a site permissions issue?

Its a site permission issue.

Goto admin -> configuration -> users ->user group

Select all options on both fields.

I would like to make a new one instead of COD don't need that, cheque yes, so can i just change the COD files to cheque and in the admin panel add as above?

I would be good to know for others to what are the files in brief need to be add or modified to achieve this and which directory.

Make sure you set the paypal extention controller to:

Controller:      payment_paypal

Then it will allow to master admins to install
