Adding sizing to Products.

How would i go about adding a drop down menu so one could choose a size
for what it is they are purchasing. It would then need to show up on in the
cart?

Have a look at Options in the Catalog menu of your store administration. There is a size example there that will give you a good start.

but when i go in there it only gives me the option to change the name.
