Is 0.7.9 the latest version? It says it was released "30th January, 2008" on the download page.

The current stable release is 0.7.9 and can be found at
http://code.google.com/p/open-cart/downloads/list and it shows that it released 2 days ago on that page, and not over a year ago.

Yea the front page on the
www.opencart.com site is outdated and only the link was actually updated. But a new site is in the works and it will have a proper backend to allow us to correct and better update things like that
