Call external function after changing status order

Hi everybody,
I'm new with opencart but I've strong knowledges in php and MySql. My main problem is : I'd like to call external function when the status of an order pass to "delivred". It means that I want to know where is the part of code that is called when the status of an order changes?
Someone can help me? Or maybe it's not a grood pratice to do that? Is there a module that accomplish that?
