Featured Products by Manufacturer Extension!

Firstly I hope I am posting in the correct place - feel free to move if not Mr Moderator!
I need a module that will allow me to show featured products, selectable by Manufacturer! So for example I might want to highlight all products by 'Apple' (like they need my marketing, but you know what I mean).
Any extensions for this already (I did look but couldn't find any)?
This extension must show in side and home positions and be random by manufacturer!
