I am wondering the same thing as thinkingforward. Initially I want to setup sub-domain stores (store1.mymainstore.com - store2.mymainstore.com) and so on. But, - I need all the product payments from all sub-domains to be passed through the PayPal business account at mymainstore.com.

Does that even make any sense? Basically, each "sub-domain" store operator would have an identical store layout. Let's say 3 spaces across and 4 deep. Therefore, when a customer clicked on checkout product B in store1.mymainstore.com the customer would be directed to the mymainstore.com PayPal site to complete the purchase. In this case I think I would only require 1 ssl certificate.

I looked at MultiMerch to see if they could help, but it doesn't look like it at the moment. I'm thinking I may need to have a developer do some coding to get what I'm after.

Upward and onward as they say!

Cheers

Clickmyoffer,
In my limited experience of multistores I found t was only possible to specify one Paypal account, so yes all payments would get directed through that. I have a 3 site multistore and that's how it works.
I didn't find out how to get the https working on multistore checkout though, so do not have the multistores working on SSL. The default store does. Not much of an issue for now as Paypal is handling payment via its SSL.

I believe there are other extensions that allow you to do this as well.

Hi there

I using 1.5.4.1 and have set up a multistore using sub domains.
So far all is fine.

I also have an ssl on the main domain.

Im using the same template- albeit with colour changes for each site, then renaming the theme folder to match, uploading it and changing the settings of the multistore to point to the new template, so far all is good.

However
I CANNOT get the logo image in settings to show in my multistore.
The main store is fine, but image not showing either in front end or admin for multistores.

Ive tried changing the multistore sites so they too use the ssl but that has not worked.

Im trying to hardcode the logo into the header.tpl file but this is also not working.

This is so fustrating,

Any ideas?

Solved
Hard coding fixed this, which I can live with.

Next issue, my category pages are showing a different (older ) layout to the one I need sa Ive removed the thumbnail boxes on the category pages but its still showing on Multistore.

Nope. They are tied into a single database so you back up the one database you get the info for all stores.

Just a quick one please. Is there a tutorial on doing that for newbies?

I have managed to set up a second store on a subdomain using the instructions on here but cannot work out how to create a second (or in my case a third) store on a DIFFERENT domain.

e.g. mymainstore.com

myotherstore.com/shopfolder

I can only find how to add a subdomain in my cpanel.
How do I point my opencart installation to a different domain and folder?

Can anyone help guide how to achieve this type of set up. I'm sure i'm missing something simple!

Many thanks!

You should have an addon domain option in your cpanel. You might check your hosting plan though - some only allow 1 top level domain on the account, others allow up to x domains on the same account.

Thanks labeshops - my host confirms we do not have add on domain facility available.
I have used a subdomain to create the new shop area instead :-)

Hi, I have a problem using seo urls in subdomain multistore. When i am enable SEO URL , my default store working perfectly but in the all substores have issue that when i click on a category menu it redirect to the default store category not found page.
example:
http://domain.com/categoryseourl - Working correctly
http://subdomain.domain.com/categoryseourl - Default store category not found page

My subdomains are root to my main domain folder.Anybody have any suggestions to solve this issue...??

The most common cause of this issue is in settings forgetting to add the trailing / to the url for your addon stores. Make sure you have the url as http://domain.com/ NOT http://domain.com

Instead of setting up another store my addon domains/configured carts just seem to redirect to my main domain's store instead of creating the the multi-store I tried to configure.

Below are the screenshots of my configuration.

Are there any additional steps or am I overlooking in this guide? Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Hi,
I tried various methods from opencart support forums and pages to let my multiseller login (VQMOD) module to work with my custom opencart theme. But after lot of efforts I still couldn't manage to get it working completely. Means, there is a registration page visible once I click on the inbuilt register icon on the top right corner of the header of the homepage and then page that it redirects shows me the page where the seller as well the customer can register. But still the registration page validation doesn't work properly for the seller also if I add any product from the seller login it gives an error but when I see the products page it shows that the product is already added as it shows in the gridview.

So I thought things may get a little complicated here, so I was thinking of using multistore feature in opencart, the purpose of which would be
1. Store 1 will be my store for all the customers who will visit, view and buy the products. This store will have the custom opencart compatible theme running(I used megashop theme from pavo themes -

http://demopavothemes.com/pav_megashop/demo1

2. Store 2 will be my store for sellers that will feature multiseller login with default Opencart theme version 2.0.2.0.

The idea behind this is that the multiseller module(multimerch) is easily configurable and works well with the default theme using VQMOD. So I kept it just for the purpose of sellers who will add their products and manage their profile.

Also I wanted both the stores to use the same database as all the products, category and transactions of seller and customers will be dependent through this single database.

So, I would like to know will this work well for my purpose. If not, I will be really grateful If somebody can guide me how to successfully configre multimerch module (for multiseller logins) with my custom theme.

The link of the website demo is shared above.

Thanks.
