I made a fresh installation and everything seems to work properly, BUT my config.php file in root is empty. The config.php in Admin folder is normal. I tried to reinstall and it still is the same. It seems that everything work but I am worried that maybe something will not work with the config.php being emty.

All permissions that is mentioned in the install document is set to 777.
Php runs on FastCGI
Dedicated server: Centos, plesk

delete the current config.php in the root folder, then copy your admin config.php to the root

You will then need to make some changes to the root config.php

1. Remove all lines between <?php and the // DIR
2. On the line after // DIR you should have a line with DIR_APPLICATION. Change the admin part of the path that follows it to catalog. Do the same for the DIR_LANGUAGE and DIR_TEMPLATE entries too
3. remove the line containing DIR_CATALOG

That should be all you need to change

I wonder since it doesnt update config.php during installation could it be that something else is also not setup properly during installation?

In these cases it must be something with the config.php not being writable.

It had permissions 777, is there anything else I could do to make it writable?
