Version 1.4.9.2

Opencart seems to be checking out just fine, but then paypal changes the total for some reason. This causes the wrong $ amount to be charged to the customer and also emails like: ATTN: Paypal Order 51 needs manual verification. This is my first day with open cart after moving on from zen cart.

We just went to checkout. Open cart says the total is:
$16 shirt
$4 postage
$1.56 tax
$21.56 total

Then when we continue and paypal changed it to:
$4.48 postage
Making it a total of:
$22.04

Charging us $0.48 more, which throws off the whole thing.

Now I went to the site to checkout with just a jacket, and the shirt we just bought is still in the cart. Now that's wrong.

So open cart says when we are buying the jacket:

$250 jacket
$20 postage
- $20 postage (cause of 3333 coupon)
$24.38 tax
$274.38 total

This is correct.

But right before we complete checkout, in the second to the last screen in paypal, it says:

$250 jacket
-$20 discount
$230 total
$24.38 tax
$70 postage (WHAT THE HELL???)
$324.38 total

Where did this come from? This amount is about to be taken out of our bank account.

Basically that whole left side of the paypal page when you're finishing the checkout process with paypal is messing things up. It's changing the total. Is it changing the total based on some sort of weight issue maybe? That does not make sense though cause it does not know how you are going to ship this. It also has a place where you can configure shipping based on your zip code. That I don't need to confuse customers with!

It also says something about "Welcome to the brand new paypal" something or other at the top. Never had these issues with zen cart.

Help anyone?

I think I've seen something about this happening before, it's due to a setting in paypal which adds to the shipping total I think

It's a tax issue that occurs when you have a tax rate set on shipping. ... Im working on a fix..
