Hi all,

I thought at first it was because i was a new user but now realising that its not..

My suggestion is to auto approve posts and topic's as it takes a long time to get a problem resolved when you have to wait 24-48 hours just for the topic to be approved, then you need to wait a while for the responders post to be approved

i think opencart is great and auto approval of posts will increase traffic through the forum as i know i'd spend more time on it.

thanks for considering...

Are you also going to change the posting time limit back to normal? I can't post twice within a few minutes of each other, and it's kind of annoying.

Hmm this was supposed to only affect newly registered users... I was favoring this over the approval option. I'll have to play with it more to be sure you don't have this issue

Ugh, now the time limit has gotten attention! >:D

The time limit is actually dragging me down. I come, troll a bit, complain, recommend, well you are getting to know me ;D

BUT I also do check new posts and unanswered posts. Trying to help but when I can't post as fast as I type this is just prosaic I end up taking multiple smoke breaks and consider giving up on helping people here while I'm waiting for the timer to count down.

IF SPAM is a problem either get moderators to monitor new member posts at a 5 limit to clear newbie status. IF phpBB can't handle it, switch to a forum that can ... I'm sure we could raise enough donations to go with vB (even though I do really prefer opensource)

The time limit was removed now (i think) but your idea to monitor new members is exactly what we did that this thread is against. I had approvals set for the first 5 posts but first time posters that weren't spammers were annoyed

Yes, it is annoying for them.
I had to go through the same problem several times.
You also need to have a link in the forum header to deal with folks that can't figure out what is going on.

mp3car.com deals with this in a very severe and harsh way, moderators are busy as cup cakes and people always complain about why their posts are not showing up. However, spam is almost non-existent. Spammers get banned daily. I know since I ping buggers all the them >:D feels good at times to pull the trigger >:D >:D >:D

lolo, definitely stress relief

You could apply nofollow to signature links. It would reduce the amount of spammers coming.

I say cut the time limit and put the posts at 3 ;D
Then I can go ahead and try to help people out without having to wait for the timer to finish counting down .. :P

lolo, I wouldn't be batchin' if I didn't ::)

I get this almost every time when I'm running through the unanswered posts link on the forum and my answers take only a few lines to answer.
http://forum.opencart.com/search.php?se ... unanswered

IF I go through the view new posts, I get it less often since I'm posting additional ideas/comments to already active posts.
http://forum.opencart.com/search.php?search_id=newposts
But even then I come across this pretty regularly.

I don't hunt and peck with 2 fingers but still my typing speeds aren't that fast ...
