what is the difference between Authorization Type: Automatic and Manual?

I'm guessing you are talking about a setting in a payment extension. Perhaps providing more information as suggested in the forum rules would help others answer you question. viewtopic.php?t=200480

If you are talking about a payment extension, authorization type Automatic means that the payment is instantly processed, whereas Manual means you have to manually authorize the payment transaction first by logging into your payment provider's account and then do the final authorization from there, for the transaction to complete.
