Help Updating Opencart from 1.5.0

Hello, im not sure if im in the correct spot or not, I realy hope i am.

I have a website that I have used for about 15 years now, that uses opencart, but i never have accepted payments through it, I had typically just had COD checkout, and then sent the customer an invoice through Square for the custom item the ordered. My business has gotten larger and now i need to be ablet o accept payment directly on the website. My website store currently uses Opencart Version 1.5.0 its insanely old. I would like to update the version, but I am unsure how to do this exactly. Is there anyone that specializes in this that I can hire to complete the process? Or is this something I can do on my own easy enough?

It is not easy enough to do on your own because your version is so old. You should find a developer to help you upgrade the site.

If you need to find a developer, you can post a request in the OpenCart "Commercial Support" forum, which is checked by a number of OpenCart developers. You can also try checking out the OpenCart "Partners" area.

Your simplest upgrade route would be to install a fresh version of Opencart, dump relevant tables from the old database and insert the records into the new one making adjustments to the MySQL insert statements where necessary.

You should rebuild it in 3.0.4.0.
