I've been successfully running OpenCart 3.0.3.8 for around four years now, with very little trouble. I needed to add the VQMod to be able to run a Marketplace extension. My problem is that with VQMod enabled, after opening up either the front end or the admin back end, everything hangs after just a few seconds, one minute max. There's nothing that I can do other than close the web browser. If I then restart the browser and try to start up either the front or back ends within the first few minutes of it initially hanging, it all hangs again with the egg timer and I dong get anywhere. THEN, AND HERE'S THE STRANGEST BIT: If, after the initial hang and closing of the web browser I then leave everything along for ten minutes or so, I'm then able to restart the browser and re-open both the front and back ends again as if there had never been anything wrong. Unfortunately though, everything hangs once more after a few seconds or a minute or so. OR, INSTEAD OF WAITING TEN MINUTES FOR IT TO 'CLEAR' before restarting the browser, If instead I use FTP to delete VQMod's 'checked.cache' file, I can then restart the browser and enter either the front or back ends immediately, but again, for just a few seconds before it all hangs. To repeat: After the store hangs and I've closed the web browser, either waiting around ten minutes OR clearing the checked.cache file allows me to restart the browser and enter the store, but only for a few seconds.
I have installed the latest version of VQMod and it's scrips, and have set the 755 permissions on the relevant folders and files. Opencart 3.0.3.8. Vqmod 2.6.6 or 2.6.8

Do share you the URL of the extension you are trying to install from the marketplace that requires VQMOD? For a more stable and cleaner setup, I recommend using either OCMOD or VQMOD exclusively, rather than both. Additionally, if the site hangs, it could be due to exhausted memory or a memory leak.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't got as far as installing the VQMod extension yet, as the VQMod engine itself hangs after just a few seconds. I suspect that it might well be using both OCMod and VQMod. I have a handful of OCMod extensions running fine, it's just trying to run the VQMod engine that's the problem.
Re. the memory thing, I've read a number of posts saying that the checked.cache file can get larger, and larger and larger over time, often harvesting tens of thousands of lines. This issue was apparantly fixed in the very latest version of VQMod though, so I don't think it's a memory thing. Besides, my hosting company 'upped' the memory for me.
Thanks for your input.

By Default OC uses OCMOD not the VQMOD, if you haven't install the VQMOD then it shouldn't be their at all
