No OC version but lets assume you posted in the correct forum.
Please read the forum rules viewforum.php?f=176.
I realise your new, it is not a criticism, but if you need help you have to provide details.

OC4 is not suitable for live sites
Have you tried anything? Have you searched google?

All settings are correct for office365

But when trying to send contact request. - >
Error: Password not accepted from server!: in /home/sgracing/public_html/system/library/mail/smtp.php on line 306

No even any attempt in the office365 logs.

You could pay a developer such as ourselves or post a job in the Commercial Support Forum.

Am I the only person for which the contact form is not working with o365 and Gmail emails? I found a workaround using my domain's local email and forwarding it to o365 for now. I spoke with the hosting support, who advised that the problem is with the opencart.

Well, while I understand your indention to get paid jobs and to promote yourself, it's boring.
And as long as the OP did not use the search here: search.php?st=0&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&keyw ... 5&start=20
and tried the mentioned solutions (and tell us then that nothing does help), it's unavailing to answer.

Everything can be ..

Question: what do you use when sending the order emails - or status changing from the administration?

You may get more details of why the password was rejected by temporarily changing line 306 of system/library/mail/smtp.php to the following.
throw new \Exception($error_text . ' Reply: ' . $reply);

If you cant fix it on your own with all the provided solutions i would suggest you post the job post in commercial section of the forum and get it done as a paid Job, You can also send me email and i can assist with this.

Have you also tried OC 3.0.4.0, just to find out whether it's your email settings, or an issue with OpenCart? Also, have you been able to use a proper email client, e.g. ThunderBird, Evolution, or other, with your given settings?

Why I should try other version? I am with 4.0.2.3 and it should run the email without problem.
I cant believe how is possible that simple option doesn`t work.

I have office365 registration and using outlook.
Filled all the forms correct

Mail Engine SMTP
SMTP Hostname tls://smtp.office365.com
SMTP Username Microsoft 365 email address (example admin@opencart-pro.com)
SMTP Password Microsoft 365 user password
SMTP Port 587

AND STILL CANNOT RECEIVE email from the contact form.

That was my bad to change wp with opencart.

Soo many bugs. Even there was no option to upload favicon and I should do it by writing code.... That is unacceptable ... But thats another story.

Those settings (engine, host and port are correct (have several clients using office365.com with that settings, and at each it's working perfectly.

And you told us already:
Error: Password not accepted from server!
So what does that mean exactly?
Guess you know that by yourself!

What I cannot check is, are username and password correct .. ?!
And why?
Are you the owner of the office account and shop?
If, then you should know how to verify ..

Correct - another story.

Until now, several people tried to help you.
But - as I can read it - you are not answering specific questions, nor doing as mentioned (add code to see what is the extact reponse message).

And - when very expirienced users here recommend you NOT to use 4.x - they know why.
So do not do as you know it better!

Summary: you are dealing with some you don't understand.
Ask here for help, but do not what people here suggest.

Guess with the time reading your answers - or what you write as answer - will loose everyones interest to help you.
