HI people

I've had my site going live two days and already a spammer has registered, my previous site oscommerce was hacked, I want to avoid this happening again.

Is there any way to ban a particular domain name, i.e. 02.pl and or their email address. I only got the ip address through internet search.

Any ideas on how to keep my site safe would be appreciated.

Something like this in your .htaccess should do it:

order allow,deny
deny from 123.45.6.7
deny from 012.34.5.
allow from all

Switch the IP addresses to addresses that you want to block.

id you need a better firewall here is what i have created. and if you wish you can have the denied access redirect to my server. https://github.com/bluebrad/Opencart-firewall if not comment out the line or remove it in the .htaccess file.

These are my two goto add-ons for this problem:

Ninja Firewall
https://nintechnet.com/ninjafirewall/pro-edition

Cidram
https://github.com/CIDRAM/CIDRAM

Plus an admin security extension. Not perfect but pretty good.

This is also good but it doesn't work with OC 1.5.6.4/1.5.6.5:

The SpamBot Buster is able to quite effectively block spambots from doing fake account registrations.

Export/Import Tool * SpamBot Buster * Unused Images Manager * Instant Option Price Calculator * Number Option * Google Tag Manager * Survey Plus * OpenTwig
