Hi everyone,
Bright white plain screen have been a best in helping me clarify and troubleshoot visual problems during my learning journey. As an aspiring web developer, I recently decided to explore OpenCart to gain experience with e-commerce platforms. While following the instructions in the Install.md file, I encountered a problem, when I tried to access the installation page, all I got was a blank dim blur screen instead of the setup wizard.

To better understand the issue, I used a customizable plain screen, which allowed me to closely observe the problem and confirm that the issue was not related to my device or browser.

I’m running Debian 11 as my operating system with MariaDB and Apache2, and I have ensured that all prerequisites for OpenCart, including PHP modules, are installed. Despite multiple reinstalls and trying various guides, the screen issue persists.

Has anyone else faced this problem while setting up OpenCart? Could it be related to server configurations or compatibility issues?

Now with that out of the way. What OC version are you trying to install? What PHP version? Are there any errors in your server error logs?

Am I having a stroke or does this post not make any sense? How is the brightness of the screen used to debug an issue?

Take a look at your /var/log/apache2/error.log for more details, it's most likely a 500 error.

Why is everyone replying with actual answers and no one's questioning the following from their post:

How can a blank screen (whether it's bright or not depends on your display settings) help to troubleshoot anything? And what even is a "customizable plain screen"?

For me I replied with giving the benefit that there might be a language difference between what the person wrote and maybe their native tongue with the hope they would come back with more info.
