dropdown-menu css in admin is set to position: absolute; and is causing the dropdown to be on top of and cover the search field making it hard to navigate/search the field when the dropdown menu appears. I deleted the admin bootstrap.scss and modified the bootstrap.css .dropdown-menu position from absolute to initial which should fix my problem but the changes haven't applied to the site even after cache reset etc.
Suggestions? Is this a known issue or possible conflict with 3rd party modifications?

Are you using custom theme? if not.
