Disappearing Twig Changes

I make small changes to the twig templates through the UI, and a few days later the changes disappear. I am really hating this.

Anyone else wasting hours on end recoding stuff over and over because of this?

How are you making the changes? "through the UI" can mean different things to different people so please tell us exactly.
