Opinion - probably not popular but it is what I see

Opencart was a great shopping cart because of the community, the fact that most needed extensions were part of the core (many payment gateways, shipping extensions, feeds, and Captchas).
I intent to ride it for a very long time since my business is very integrated with opencart and beyond that... I really like opencart.
Now here is what is bothering me... The core functionality I mentioned above is starting to break and now with webhosts, like mine, forcing php 8.x the community isn't there to update the code fast enough. Yes there are some excellent contributors still but some of the contributions cost a bit too much for the needed functions. My example is shipping rates.... I only need something close I don't need any extra functions. I just need a shipping rate that is close to what it would cost to be displayed and added (if applicable) to the order. We put in the order shipping info into UPS, FedEX or USPS so we don't need anything sent over to those services once the rate is quoted.
The last few extension developers I contacted either didn't respond or said their isn't enough users of opencart so they are not updating their extensions. It sucks.
I hope no one gets mad at this commentary just wanted to get it off my chest.

OC version. opencart-3 already requires PHP 8.3 and is almost 100% up-to-date with the change.
