Hello,

My website was created with OC 3.0.3.8 and Journal 3.
I want to make the add to cart button work when a random code is entered for a specific product.
Is there such a source or extension?

That sounds like a very custom requirement so you should probably pay a developer to build that for you.

Please explain: What do you mean by "add to cart button work when a random code is entered for a specific product"?

Also, this is an OpenCart forum. For the Journal framework use their support.

Makes sense to me - you can't add a product to cart unless you input the right code first.

???

I usually add a product to the cart by clicking on the 'Add to Cart' button.

Yes but it sounds like this store owner wants the customer to enter a code to allow this.

To enable the Add to Cart button feature based on entering a random code for a specific product on your OpenCart 3.0.3.8 website with the Journal 3 theme, you may consider implementing a custom solution using OpenCart's built-in functionality or developing your own extension. Here's a general outline of how this can be achieved:

Custom Development: You can develop your own extension or script that integrates with your OpenCart store. This custom solution involves creating a form where customers can enter a random code for a specific product. Once submitted, the script will check the code and activate the "Add to Cart" button if the code is correct.

Custom Fields: OpenCart allows you to add custom fields to products. You can add a custom field to a product where customers can enter a random code. However, you will need special development to validate the entered code and activate the “Add to Cart” button accordingly.

Third party extensions. While there may not be a ready-made extension specifically for this feature, you can explore the OpenCart marketplace or contact extension developers to learn about custom development options.

Journal 3 Compatibility: Make sure any solution or extension you choose is compatible with the Journal 3 theme to ensure smooth integration and proper display on your website.

Hope this helps you!
