Error: PHP GD is not installed! in image manager

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me.
I have been working with the opencart Version 4.0.1.1 and everything has been working fine for the last month until today when i went to upload more photos into a sub folder and I got Error: PHP GD is not installed! Once this happens any time I try to access that folder again i get the same message. I can still access other folders and see my images but now if i try to upload any photo to anywhere i get this message and then can no longer access that folder. I have tried researching this but have not been able to find a solution. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Contact your host and ask them if the PHP GD extension is installed.

Thanks, I will do that, but everything was working fine until the other day and nothing changed.

Or simply create a file into your website directory add the code: save it as phpinfo.php
Then visit your website url https://example.com/phpinfo.php
And see if the gd is enabled for your site.
