I've been having issues with Russian spammers creating users and send enquiry emails
Sick of this I wanted to Upgrade to 4.0.1.0 and get google captcha working to try and slow them down or stop them
Followed the upgrade instructions got the upgrader on the installation page, this completed without error
now when I try and login to the admin page the user is not recognised so I can't login
Any ideas how I can resolve this?
IMHO you should go back to the 3.0.6.0 version (if you still have a copy of the database and files) as 4.x will just give you too many issues. But you might be able to search online here for a solution to get into the database and reset the password.
Google captcha works on 3.x without issue.

This has been covered a few times. It'll take more than an upgrade to stop spammers, bots, brute force attacks and DDOS attacks etc. They plague all versions of Opencart and probably most websites. Personally I would have stuck with V3 and improved your site security. Straight away I would have stuck Ninja Firewall on and Cidram bad traffic blocker. Then looked at an extension to protect your admin folder.naturesfinest wrote: ↑Wed Aug 24, 2022 7:16 pmI've been having issues with Russian spammers creating users and send enquiry emails
