Upgrading from OC 3.0.3.8 to OC 4

Hi,
I wanted to post this in the upgrade/installation section but there is no button allowing me to post? Anyway my question is regarding migrating from Opencart 3.0.3.8 to Opencart 4.0. Importantly for me - can the same database be used? Also is there a process written somewhere - is it as simple (or should I say - complex) as overwriting the current files and mopping up the extension errors?
