Has someone had this before while trying to do a mock checkout ? : "Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@paypal.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Apache/1.3.33 Server at http://www.sandbox.paypal.com Port 443"

thank you!

NO. ISE 500 is always an error on your own server. Unfortunately the reason is as cryptic as the error. Typically ISE 500 means a configuration issue, typically due to .htaccess changes. But it could be a number of things. Do you see this after you pay with paypal and get returned back to the site?

That doesn't really match up. You mean you click "Confirm payment" on the checkout/confirm page is when you see that?
How about just sharing a link for us to take a look at

Well I see some other weirdness....
The method in the form shows "_xclick" instead of "_cart"
The core uses "_cart" so not sure where you are setting "_xclick"

When i click "Confirm Order" I see the paypal page as expected. There is no way an ISE could occur there since the form is directly to paypal at that point. Perhaps it happens after you login and pay and are returned back. Then it might be something with curl not setup right

Honestly the paypal sandbox is a confusing mess. Better off testing with 2 live paypal accounts. And really since 1.4.9, there should be no problem with just going to live mode and waiting for your first real order

upgrading will not affect my products? they will still be there? (I get a bit paranoiac now with having been stupid in the past with a wordpress site!)
OK, I put it in live mode now.

"transaction method" should be on "sale" shouldn't it? but that is not a question I should bother you with, rather paypal, should I?

yes sale means instant. auth means you need to claim it manually within 3 days

Upgrading isn't too bug of a deal. But some of us offer paid upgrade services if you are uncomfortable doing so.
