Spanish Language Not Working

Hi, I recently installed opencart and configured it. Now I want to install the spanish language I found in the extensions section.Spanish v1.4.9 - v1.4.9.1.

However, for some reason it's not working at all. After I installed it, following the instructions step by step (I have done more than twice to see if it was my mistake), my opencart site still appears in english. It doesn't work in the front end neither in the backend. Before you ask, yes I have made sure to choose the correct settitngs for spanish to be the default language.

The only thing the changes when I have spanish as default is some button's names. For example, in the front end, next to the search bar, instead of "go" it's now button_go, and in the backend, under the setting tab, now it appears, tab_general, tab_local, tab_store. The prices are also wrong since now the look like this $200d2, etc.


Anyone could point me in the righ direction? what am i doing wrong?

Hi, I figured it out myself, there was an "english" folder in the spanish pack, I just deleted that, installed the translation and now everything is fine.

I downloaded the extension, but how do you install it? All I got was a white file.
