Product Number Variations based on Option Values?

I'm thinking about changing my current online shops to OpenCart...

but one major thing that I need is the ability to have a separate product number or identification based on the options.

Example:

A USB Flash drive:
1 gig = item number 12345
2 gig = item number 56789

I tried it in the demo, and I can't seem to figure out if this will work or not.

Any thoughts?

There is a mod called options plus which adds additional option fields like:
- sku/model
- weight
- image
- info

That should do what you need
