Good Evening,

I am currently using the Paypal standard config on my site as the only payment option. Since Paypal is defaulted is there a way I can actually hide the payment selection info or modify the text on the page? I ask as a customer was looking for a message about credit cards versus only paypal on the payment page. Since Paypal was the only option he called tryng to find the credit card selection option which I was able to clarify is on the paypal site. Is there a way to improve the user experience in this example? Thanks for the help.

Not quite sure which page you are referring too
If you mean you want to skip the payment page you can use this:
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... path=47_48

If you want to show CC on the paypal site, read this:
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... h=32_35_60

Is this the payment options section in checkout? If you use paypal standard, you could modify the text in (I think) catalog/language/english/payment/pp_standard.

I put 'Credit or Debit card, via Paypal' - but still had a customer who thought they needed a Paypal account. :) So, still working on the wording...

- I also plan to create an info page with screenshots, clarifying where to click if they have the Paypal cookie (as explained in the link Qphoria gave) - but, say, don't want to use their paypal account. With paypal, the potential for confusion is high.

Thank guys for the information.

Is there a way to disable the Shipping/Payment selection and still have coupons/comments still enabled on checkout page 2?

I edited page 2 as discussed and have a couple additional questions:
Is there a way to display the defaulted options on the confirmation page however disable the change buttons or the back button? This way the customer does not use a button that has no functionality.

Thanks for the help.

Can you tell me again how I would edit the text found on checkout page 2? I would like to add text to help the customer.

Open the following file in a text editor:
catalog/language/english/payment/pp_standard.php

At the top you'll see

Code: Select all

// Text
$_['text_title'] 				= 'PayPal';
Change Paypal to your preferred wording - keeping your words within the quotes - then re-upload.

-Take a backup copy first (sorry, got to say it :) )
