Upgrading from 2.2.0.0 to the newest version but will i lose all my settings and information? I am also running ShirtTools/Ziva Studios and not sure if that will be an issue.
Was also told this from my host, BlueHost.
"I have checked your website settings and I see that it is not compatible with the higher version of PHP. As an immediate fix, I have changed to an older version of PHP 5.6. This is only a temporary fix and will not be an ideal long term solution since the older versions are prone to vulnerabilities, not compatible with the new version of website scripts, and known to cause issues to your theme/plugins. So, it is advisable to get in touch with the website developer to update the scripts and move to the latest PHP version."

Don't try updates/upgrades in your live site. I strongly suggest to create a local copy of your store, so that you can try there the upgrade process without affecting your site.gcextreme wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 6:41 amUpgrading from 2.2.0.0 to the newest version but will i lose all my settings and information? Thank you for the response. Is it necessary to do the whole opencart upgrade or can i " just update the scripts and move to the latest php version"?rjcalifornia wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 9:29 amDon't try updates/upgrades in your live site. I really hate having to lose my plugin Shirttools/Ziva Studios after investing money into it if its not going to be compatable with the new opencart version. and then also having to redo my Journal2 design theme and or losing all my items and progress ive made on the site.

I think if you just update and change php version, you might encounter plugin conflicts. My suggestion is to set up a local development opencart store (probably using the latest version) and test if your plugins and theme customizations are still compatible.gcextreme wrote: ↑Mon Feb 15, 2021 10:13 am
