Ubuntu server 8.10 - can I install Open cart on this old machine?

Hi ! I've using OC on the cloud, but I would like to try my old server with is currently available.
Do you think OC will run on it? Which version is worth trying? 2.x, 3.x ? 1.x

I have on it MySQL database server running (Server version: 5.0.67-0ubuntu6.1), ...
Apache2
MySQL client version: 5.0.67
phpMyAdmin - 2.11.8.1deb1ubuntu0.2

you know all the old stuff

Correct, it's exactly what it means.

With fresh installation, and a full backup if applicable, you'll know the results by yourself.
